Arthur Johnson

Associate AD for Football Operations at the University of Texas at Austin

 
A native of Thomasville, Georgia, Arthur Johnson is an accomplished administrator with more than 19 years of experience at four institutions in the “Autonomy 5” Conferences. Arthur came to the University of Texas from 1999 through 2005 to work with Coach Mack Brown. In January of 2011, Johnson returned to Austin, TX to direct football operations at the University of Texas. Johnson worked with Coach Charlie Strong to lead the on-boarding and transition of the new football staff. He was promoted to Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director in June of 2014. He serves as the sports administrator for Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Football, Men’s Golf, and Swimming & Diving His many responsibilities include facilities, capital planning for facilities, and game operations.

Prior to returning to Austin in 2011, Johnson served as the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations at his alma mater, the University of Georgia from February 2005 – January 2011.

After graduating from Thomasville High School in 1988, Johnson enrolled at the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance and a Masters of Education in Business Education. While in graduate school, he began his career in Athletics while working in the Football and Event Management offices. In addition to positions at the University of Georgia and the University of Texas, Johnson has been employed at Arizona State University and the University of North Carolina.

Johnson is the second of five children and is married to T’Leatha R. Suitt of Columbus, Georgia. They have a son, Aaron James Johnson. Arthur has been involved in numerous professional and civic organizations and enjoys watching young people grow and develop.
